HDVIP
The Heavy-Duty Vehicle Inspection Program (HDVIP) is a California ARB program for all vehicles, over 6,000 pounds that enter and operate in the State of California. ARB inspectors may conduct unannounced roadside tests at locations such as CHP weigh stations, roadside locations, fleet facilities and border crossing. The roadside inspection includes an anti-smoke inspection as well as tampering inspection that includes an emission system and emission control label (ECL) review. Vehicles that do not pass this inspection will be cited and will need to respond to a notice of violation by repairing your engine and/or identified labelling issues. Unresolved violations may impact your CA registration renewal.
